Whole Food Dinner Ingredient Delivery Service
When I received my first Sun Basket box I was happy. I had the ingredients, perfectly measured to make it easy, and recipes that had new ideas and techniques. For example, one of the first recipes I made used the part of leeks most people just compost. That part was used to make broth, something I had never thought to do before.
These steak fajitas you see pictured above were even more flavorful than the spices I usually toss meat in for my own fajitas. This recipe will stay in my regular meal rotation at home.
My body doesn’t respond as well to some foods as it used to so I have been preparing mostly whole food recipes for my meals, the majority are paleo or close to it.
Sun Basket has played a huge part in this journey, inspiring me to change up the same three go to meals I used to make. My way was kinda boring and hard to stick to. Maybe you can relate.
I’ve made this recipe for steak and sweet potato hash browns (click here for the recipe) after receiving this recipe in one of my boxes and I thought to start cooking squash in place of sweet potatoes, also changing the meat to give myself some variety. It’s perfect. And I’m surprised to say butternut squash has become a favorite I look forward to eating almost every day.
Here are a few tips that have helped me:
- Variety~ Change it up! Don’t eat the same foods every day. Sun Basket’s recipes inspire me to use their recipes and variations of them in my weekly meal plan so I don’t feel stuck eating the same few recipes over and over and over. You don’t want to grow bored of eating what makes you feel good.
- Love it~ If you’ve ever put together ingredients that you know have got to be good for you and were disappointed in the result, you know what I mean. Use foods and flavors you love and keep trying new things. This will help you stick to your whole food lifestyle.
- Celebrate Seasons~ During the winder months, I’m all about squashes and root vegetables here. Summer is my favorite because it’s berry and delicate lettuce season! Eating seasonal fruits and veggies help with the two tips listed above, changing ingredients with the seasons.
Sun Basket’s recipes are simply written and easy to prepare. My daughter and I sometimes cook together. She’s really been stepping up quite a bit and cooking some of them on her own so dinner is already made when the time comes. There aren’t enough words to express my appreciation for that!
We’ve had quite a few changes in the past year, fortunately we are loving life and enjoying every minute! Eating fresh, whole foods have made a big difference in my health and give me some excellent fuel to play around at the gym.
To help your new year’s resolutions stick this year, give Sun Basket a try. Let me know when you do! You’re gonna love them. You may choose any meals from the menu each week with paleo, gluten free and vegetarian options plus breakfast. You can get $30.00off your first box by clicking here.
