Giving Your All
A Tapas Platter, like most foods shared here on the blog, is inspired by a fond memory. A good friend often has my daughter and I over for dinner along with several other people. She spends time on the main course, usually there is more than one. Complete with side dishes and desserts, she goes above and beyond. This friend puts a lot of love in her cooking and gives her all to take care of her family and her friends. She introduced me to the tapas platter. Such a quick and easy idea but when you add it to the main course, side, salad and dessert it’s an extra touch to a meal that really makes it a complete dining experience.
Goat cheese and dried berries are often on her tapas platters. For our most recent visit she made cheesy focaccia bread and had roasted garlic to spread on it. You can go either way with it or anywhere in between.
I enjoy food for the sentimental value of it. Don’t get me wrong, my preferred foods taste delicious and the flavor is enjoyable but it’s not just about the food itself. It’s about sharing it with friends like Lisa and taking notice of how she spends her life taking care of other people.
Make your own version of this tapas platter all year long and watch it become a part of your find food memories! Not really what you put on the platter but the people you share it with. For more appetizer recipes, take a peek at my appetizer page and see what catches your eye! Or if you’re on the hunt for a main dish to serve after this platter, I recommend a pan of cheesy delicious lasagna. This is my favorite way to make homemade lasagna.
