No-churn Dairy Free Strawberry Ice Cream takes 5 minutes and only 3 ingredients.
Strawberry Ice Cream, 3 Ingredients & Five Minutes
Given a choice, would you prefer to eat something sweet or something savory? I love steak and mushrooms. Polenta is my fave and I adore lasagna but my sweet tooth dominates my preferences. Gotta have something sweet. That’s where this strawberry ice cream comes into play.
When I was growing up my mom would make pies, cobblers and crisps for dessert or we would have a scoop of ice cream. The evening usually ended with something sweet and I still, without fail, crave something sweet after a meal. Particularly dinner.
Summer in a bowl!
This strawberry ice cream is spring-slash-summer in a bowl and I am happy to say that it is the most excellent strawberry ice cream that I have ever enjoyed.
I love recipes made with a few simple ingredients and this is absolutely perfect. This ice cream is made of pure maple syrup for a little sweetness, almond milk to bring it all together and frozen strawberries for the main event. It’s perfect. I can’t wait to add some lemon zest next time or chopped mint.
Dairy Free, Cane Sugar Free & Gluten Free
While anyone who likes strawberries would find this enjoyable, this is also dairy free, cane sugar free and gluten free. And you don’t need an ice cream machine.
I myself cannot drink milk and I have to limit milk based foods. I can eat some dairy foods in moderation but it really depends on what it is. I usually end up learning the hard way. 🙁
Frozen yogurt is ok in moderation, but add that rich liquid ice cream base and I won’t be able to keep it down. Ice cream is fine in small amounts, but I am enjoying the non dairy alternatives. This ice cream is perfect. It doesn’t even need those brownie chunks that I usually crave in my frozen treats.
What is your most favorite ice cream flavor?
You should totally give this ice cream a try. I keep sliced strawberries in my freezer for those sweet tooth emergencies. 🙂 I’m always five minutes away from this sweet, frozen treat!
- 1 pound of sliced, frozen strawberries
- 4 tbsp. pure maple syrup
- 5 tbsp. almond milk
- In the bowl of a food processor mix strawberries and 1 tbsp. maple syrup until strawberries are broken up into small pieces.
- Add 2 tbsp. maple syrup and 2 tbsp. almond milk, mix until incorporated. Scrape bottom of the bowl.
- Add remaining syrup and almond milk, mixing until well combined. Mixture may still appear to be in small separate pieces.
- Transfer to a mixing bowl.
- Using a large spoon, press it together into a round form. Your ice cream is now ready to scoop.
- Serve and enjoy!
Recipe makes approximately 6 scoops. Mixture will not become a cohesive ball while in the food processor. Once added to the mixing bowl, it will form into scoops.
Here’s another dairy free ice cream that can be made without an ice cream machine. The rum is optional in this Raspberry Pina Colada Ice Cream.
