Pina Colada Smoothie
Smoothies like this Pina Colada Smoothie helped me switch from the indulgent breakfasts I do enjoy (cinnamon rolls, scones, toaster pastries…) to eating more whole foods that fuel my body. I am still having success with my weight loss goals and other fitness goals when I continue to minimize less wholesome foods while sipping on smoothies and eating other whole food recipes. I also find pleasure at the gym 5-6 days per week. And yes I am still a sucker for Pop Tarts, scones and cinnamon rolls but I eat them a lot less frequently.
I used to use a Nutri Bullet. It was great for blending smoothies and had a nifty screw on handle. Now I use a Ninja Blender Duo so I have one blender base with different attachments instead of the smoothie blender and a regular blender. The Ninja is a good fit for me right now. I can use the attachment to make blender muffins or whip up the eggs for baked omelette cups.
In my opinion the coconut flavor is not as prominent as the pineapple because I don’t use anything coconut flavored to make this smoothie. If you use coconut flavored yogurt you’ll taste it more.

This is one of the smoothies that fuels my body and works for me to reach my own fitness goals, including weight loss. I calculated the calories, carbs, dietary fiber and protein from product labels. Double check with the products you use if you need a more exact calculation. Please adjust this recipe to fit your own intake preferences and needs. This is intended to be a breakfast replacement.
