Blueberry Pomegranate Smoothie Bowl
I was able to get my hands on some freshies (basically juice-like beverages) from Sambazon. I had never tried anything from Sambazon, but since they are a part of the non-GMO project and sell organic products I was pretty excited to give them a try and that is what inspired me to make this Blueberry Pomegranate Smoothie Bowl.
I got my other half and the kiddos involved since they are such good sports. We tried the Acai Original freshie, the Protein freshie and the Blueberry Pomegranate freshie.
All four of us liked the acai original but it wasn’t our favorite of the three flavors. I noticed the dry finish and it reminds me of a red wine that we tasted last summer. I could grow to love that acai original, but not just for that reason. 🙂
Tay suggested that the Protein freshie with almond and coconut milk would make a good shake. The coconut flavor was noticeable and I really enjoyed that since I am a coconut fan. The flavor was smooth and sweet without being too sweet, you know? My other half and my step son liked the protein the best. This would be a great would be perfect for me when I have a sweet tooth but I just can’t justify going “all out” for a piece of cake or something. Personally, I think Tay is onto something with the shake idea…
The blueberry pomegranate was my favorite and Tay liked this one the best too. Actually, she absolutely loved it. She kept asking for more. And more. And she asks for smoothie bowls every morning for breakfast.
Blueberries remind me of the berry bushes that my parents had when I was growing up. They are my ultimate comfort food, reminding me of long summer days outside making mud pies in cast iron and eating blueberries by the fistful. The blueberry flavor in my fave freshie totally took me back to those summer days. I couldn’t help but smile. 🙂
I have tried a few other acai products but there can be other ingredients that I just don’t understand. These freshies from Sambazon are very straightforward with very enjoyable flavors.
These freshies are organic, vegan and gluten free which is something that my family was very excited about, especially since I cannot have milk. We prefer to know what is in our food and where it came from. After doing some reading, we were very impressed with Sambazon.
These Sambazon freshies are something that we actually enjoy with the added benefit of good nutrition. I used the Protein freshie to blend into a sweet smoothie bowl for dessert. 🙂
Blueberry Pomegranate Breakfast Smoothie Bowl
After trying these drinks, we are very happy to make Sambazon a part of our daily lives and I hope that you will give them a try. You can read more about their products and find out the nearest store that sells their freshies, sorbet and smoothie packs by visiting their website.
When I started looking into Sambazon, I saw a few smoothie bowls. I’d never heard of an actual smoothie bowl before but I had blended smoothies and put goodies in them plenty of times! Blended fruit with chopped fruit, berries or nuts is an ideal non-dairy sweet treat for me. Imagine a thick, creamy smoothie in a bowl topped with berries and granola…MMM! 😀 It reminds me of froyo but a much better for me version. I love these because I always have the ingredients on hand, I just have to change it up every time. With spring just around the corner, there will be even more seasonal options. You can thank me later…
I know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Breakfast sets the tone for the rest of our day and gives us a foundation for energy, strength and potentially a more positive outlook so I figured a breakfast smoothie bowl would be perfect to share with you! This is the smoothie bowl that has become a morning favorite for Tay. Get your hands on a Blueberry Pomegranate freshie and give it a try!
