This banana coconut smoothie (with strawberries) is one of my go to smoothies for a post workout or post busy day smoothie. Made with ingredients that you may already have, it’s a delicious treat and a great way to enjoy coconut water.
Banana Coconut Smoothie (with strawberries too!)
My days are busy, what about yours? Smoothies are my breakfast, with an occasional exception when we go out for our first meal. Originally the reason was to get more greens, fruits and vegetables in my life but things get really busy around here. I have to hit the ground running in the morning if I’m going to keep up with schoolwork, drop offs, pick ups, trips to the barn, my work, the house, the garden, the family, work schedules…I could go on and on. You know how it is. Smoothies have become a convenience as well as good-for-me benefit, allowing me to actually have breakfast. I know you can relate to the busy, right? After working outside or a trip to the gym I like to blend up one of these banana coconut smoothies. The protein is said to provide we need for muscle recovery and the coconut water aids in rehydration. I happen to almost always have frozen bananas and strawberries since they are easy smoothie add ins along with my protein powder. Don’t forget the chia seeds! And of course, the coconut water.
This was my first time trying Cocozia’s coconut water, but I had a good idea of what it would taste like. It’s 100% coconut water with nothing added and it’s organic. If I’m going to drink it by itself, I prefer it cold. For the first time coconut water drinkers, give that a try. I do like to blend up smoothies and smoothie bowls with coconut water, giving me a break from regular water.
I’ve been adding coconut water to my smoothies and smoothie bowls this week, thanks to the coconut water that Cocozia sent me. The warm weather has just begun here in Washington and I can really appreciate having this around! I wonder what it would taste like with strawberries and mint? Or blueberries with lemon slices? I’ll let you know.
If you would like to know more about Cocozia, you can visit their website here. It looks like they have coffee coconut water and mango coconut water, which I would love to get my hands on! After I try it, I’ll let you know what I think. 🙂
Don’t forget to like them on Facebook if you like coconut water.
Cocozia sent me coconut water to try and I agreed to tell you about it. As you know, I still give you my own opinion about all products that I review.
- 1 frozen banana, sliced
- 6-7 strawberries, I used fresh
- 2 tsp. chia seeds
- 2 tbsp. unsweetened shredded coconut
- 5½ ounces of Cocozia coconut water, half of one 330 mL carton
- 1 scoop of your favorite protein powder, I use brown rice gluten, dairy and soy free protein
- Add banana and strawberries to your bullet cup.
- Measure coconut, protein powder and chia seeds on top.
- Pour coconut water to the "max" line, about ½ inch below the top of your ingredient line.
- Blend. Add 1 tbsp. of coconut water for a thinner smoothie.
Reduce amount added to follow manufacturers instructions and stay below the recommended line.
