I think the best part of this Bacon Wrapped Smokies recipe is the bacon. Need I say more? Make this appetizer this weekend! You’ll love it.
Bacon Wrapped Smokies
Bacon makes a lot of things better. Burgers, salads, (yes these Bacon Wrapped Smokies), my Bacon White Cheddar Risotto and even chocolate is awesome with crispy bacon. There’s a little market near my house selling an impressive selection of bacon and there is at least one butcher who, of course, doesn’t disappoint. Smoked, cured, peppered and more. Love it. And Tay is head over heels for bacon too. Why don’t we eat more of it??
Wrapping bacon around cute little smokies is a genius idea. Wish I could say it was originally my idea but folks were making something like this even when I was a little girl. Probably before I was born. This is how I’ve always remembered them, complete with brown sugar to add some sweetness. These Bacon Wrapped Smokies can be quite addicting.
Since I bake them with toothpicks I use wood toothpicks without fancy decorations but they really don’t need any flare. Just you and your guests. 🙂
What little finger foods do you remember snacking on during boring grown up dinner parties? I remember seeing these little cocktail weenies at a few parties and to me they were cute little hot dogs. There wasn’t a lot of kid friendly food at the places we visited so I had to tough it out with the boring stuff. Now I love those foods and they’re certainly not boring! I mean, there’s bacon. That’s anything but boring, right?
I highly recommend you give these Bacon Wrapped Smokies a try! This is one of the recipes I contributed over at Food Fanatic. Grab this recipe and head over to peek at the other party foods they have for you. My fellow contributors are creative and know how to make some tempting appetizers. See for yourself.
Thank you so much for stopping by. Enjoy these!
