Why wait for the weekend when you can have 30 minute spaghetti and meatballs on a weeknight? Simple meatballs only take 15 minutes and the sauce can simmer while the noodles cook. It’s awesome. You can thank me later.
30 Minute Spaghetti and Meatballs
If you’ve seen my recipe for 15 minute meatballs, you know where I’m going with this. Just so we are clear, I’m a big fan of taking my time to make a big batch of ginormous meatballs and letting a vat of tomato sauce simmer on the stove but when we have a lot to do and very little time to cook dinner, I need this quick version of spaghetti and meatballs. I really do.
This classic dinner recipe is sped up a bit using a fast tomato sauce using canned tomatoes (use fresh if they’re in season or use a no cook tomato sauce recipe) and making a super fast batch of meatballs. We use the same recipe for meatballs and sauce for our meatball sandwiches too. Unless we can get our hands on some good hoagie rolls, we brown some Texas toast and serve them open faced style!
At the moment my daughter rides horses and we go to the barn two nights every week. Add my exercise class and fun trips to the lake and we have a moderately busy schedule but fortunately it’s all things we enjoy doing together. Thanks to some quick dinner recipes we can cook, have fun and get to bed at a reasonable hour.
What does your typical week look like? Do you cram quite a bit into your weeknights? I’d love to hear about some of your go to weeknight dinner solutions!
To make this spaghetti we use the recipe for meatballs below along with the marinara sauce recipe from Food Fanatic. Boil the noodles while the sauce and meatballs are cooking, then you’re good to go. 30 minutes away from dinner.
